Rhythm Code – Digital Junkies

  • Cuba Recordings have made a good start to their label with some great releases that have made a bit of an impact on the scene. They try to continue the form with the latest release by Rhythm Code entitled Digital Junkies. The Digital Dub is first up and it gets straight into the action with some driving beats. The chunky loops are maintained throughout really, with a very interesting classroom scenario used as the quirky element of the production. The second half of the production is probably the better half, with some analogue riffs used alongside the beats. On the b-side is the The Junkies Class 1 Mix. This mix takes on a more tribal disguise with chunkier beats merged with some very chunky b-lines. The classroom shenanigans also feature, as does the ‘Thankyou’ vocal that gets magnified in this mix. All in all this is quite a solid tribal workout. The Thank-apella Tool is what it suggests, a DJ tool used for offering thanks. Not a bad release by Cuba, one that will definitely raise a chuckle with its quirky nature. But don’t let that put you off the solid production provided by Rhythm Code. Well worth a look, and a release that is sure to have many dancefloor moving in the right way.
