Scam – Killer / So Good

  • The third release on Deepcut recordings comes from the production studio of Scam, as they deliver two reggae influenced breakbeat infused mayhem. Two solid cuts, the a-side especially made famous by James Zabiela in his recent Essential mix, this is sure to work the floors into a frenzy. The a-side delivers from the word go, as Killer lives by its title and destroys from the outset. Nicely paced breakbeat soon leads into a gritty baseline that grabs the production by the balls and never lets go. Upbeat and chunky, helped along by quirky reggae vocal sample, make this a track that is sure to stand out from the pack. So Good on the flip is sure to remind many of those ill fated Speed Garage days of a few years back. Well the baseline is, as that is where the similarities end, as the rest of the features of this track are much more insightful. The beats are solid, the quirky little effects too that rise in and out of the track, and the final result is quite healthy. Two pretty solid tracks here on this nice little package from the crew at Deepcut Recordings. This release will definitely won’t go unnoticed at the record stores so get in quick.
