- Not being too familiar with the Filterheadz sound I did not know exactly what to expect, but I was very impressed. The promo I received contained what I presume is the Original Mix of the track “Yimanya”.
This tracks starts off with a bouncy groove with some tribal undertones. Shimmering synth sounds are then layered into the mix to make way for a bleepy melodic hook that continues to loop in the background. At the first break an African vocal chant is introduced and the track really begins to lift. The track then continues in a similar fashion with the odd break or two. “Yimanya” is a solid track that should work well on any dancefloor, it will be interesting to hear the remixes – if there are any.
Finally, I’d have to say that although this is a fairly straightforward track, it is also very very effective. It is almost certain to appeal to a wide spectrum of djs, from house, techno, trance and progressive types. Dance floor carnage is almost certain, watch out for this one, it is a guaranteed hit.
