Buttrich – Meeting Dave Dish / Mr. Medicine Man

  • Now Mr. Buttrich was responsible for one of the highlight tracks last year with his remix of Locodice on this, the Four Twenty imprint. Now he returns with 2 original productions of his own, and unlike his remix last year, these two tracks are more downtempo smooth house interpretations rather then the funked up techiness. Meeting Dave Dish is first up, and it’s a smooth journey into house from Buttrich. Smooth beats weigh in at around 120 bpm as the track flows smoothly with some humming pads, quirky chirpy little melodies and a smooth baseline underneath it all. A delicate flow throughout, this track really showcases Martin’s ability to create a smooth mood though his work. On the flip is Mr. Medicine Man, and yet again the beats are smooth and slow, with this track slightly lower in tempo then the a-side. Again smooth in structure, the beats flow a little more quirkily alongside a minimal male vocal. Deep baselines help the matter as well as some subtle ethnic tones. Not as addictive as his remix of Locodice, but nevertheless this release showcases the smooth nature that Buttrich can achieve in his productions. Smooth early night house!
