Tracks from an exciting 2018 album get remixed.
M.E.S.H., one of four artists enlisted to remix "Tawa," does his usual hi-tech deconstruction to the glitched and jammed pummelling of the original's melodic ambient sound. Basile3's is more delicate, reassembling the track's elements to produce a spacious post-club journey. Clip's contribution is more straightforward, stretching the original's most vital elements across seven minutes of deep house. Karen Gwyer remixes "Ken Skett." The original's oscillating build-up propels it through a tunnel of tuneful synth sequences. The result is disorienting in a way that feels exhausting until Gwyer adds another layer of urgent, electro-esque tones.
