- A US electro artist returns with a fun, vocal-laced track.
- Detroit's Filthiest is a veteran electro and ghettotech artist whose early work has been rediscovered by DJs pushing late '90s and early '00s sounds. But unlike many of the other artists getting rinsed by a new generation of acts, Julian Shamou is still very much active, releasing several digital EPs a year through his Motor City Electro Company label. (He also recently linked up with Morocco's Casa Voyager label.) Shamou's latest is "Stay Out My DM," a bottom-heavy electro track featuring the MC X-Rated. It's surprisingly hypnotic for a track with such serious bassweight, even with vocals that deal with such a relatable theme. "Stay Out My DM" won't be Shamou's next hit, but it should work on an open-minded dance floor.
