  • The water off the coast of Malmö must be warmer than we'd expect. The Malmö artists Ivar Lantz (Golden Ivy) and Prins Emanuel have just relaunched their label, Fasaan Recordings, after a two-year hiatus with a release from another hometown talent, Inre Kretsen Grupp, a one-man band helmed by Martin Blomberg. His debut release is as balmy, classy and chilled as anything else on Fasaan. The lead track is "Campo Santo," a subtly propulsive cut with cascading guitars that sounds like something Jose Padilla might have dropped at Café del Mar in the early '90s. Elsewhere, like on the mellow opener, "Loggia," and the vibraphone-laden closer, "Dubbad Dougong," Blomberg embraces the endless echo of Jamaican dub, albeit through the filter of UK post-punk. It's brilliant stuff from a label making the Baltic Sea Balearic.
