Suutoo - Where I End You Begin

  • A striking debut from a London multi-disciplinary artist.

  • Suutoo may be a new artist, but they have their sound locked down. The London producer treads the lines between euphoria and dysphoria with disjointed sound collages marked by haunting vocal samples and heavenly synths. Last year, they contributed "TRU COLORS (Spread Your Wings Edit)" to PDA's PDA Compilation Vol. 1: And The Beat Goes On, a collection that found a similar delicate balance between light and dark. Their debut EP, Where I End You Begin, consists of what Suutoo calls "episodic poems," a description that rings true. Just listen to the glittering opening track, "Fröjd." In under four minutes, Suutoo takes us from breathy accordions and a shriveling scream to a pensive melody that ambles on like a daydream. With this as their first record, Suutoo is clearly an artist to look out for.
