Paul Davis - Jazz Juice / Golden

  • The third release on Ku De Ta comes from label manager Paul Davis, and he delivers two brand spanking new chunky house numbers. Jazz Juice is first up and it is quite a chunky tribal affair that has a strong low end influence thanks to a base heave b-line. Unfortunately the track has too similar a flow for its duration and it certainly lacks a cutting edge, even though the main loop of the track is quite solid. Golden sees the tempo drop to a relative smooth 120 bpm, and the track it must be said is the stronger of the two. The b-line is nice and bouncy, creating an interesting vibe, which is helped by the vocal stabs and effects that appear throughout the track. Not a bad release here from Paul Davis, and as you can probably tell the b-side is where it is at. Worth a look for this reason alone.
