- This is another solid release from C-Jay. Titled Slag! It features his smooth, laid back style and is one of his best tracks to date.
The track kicks off with a Latino drum feel and a subtle electronic edge, before building into a very smooth base line. Once again the production on this is of a high quality allowing the track to move at pace that doesn’t peak but keeps you moving through out. At times, it has slightly dreamy feel that floats above the track, which would be perfect for a late night/after hour’s crowd. In summary a very cool, lubricious tempo track
If side one moves a upbeat, cruisey tempo then the flip side of this has a slightly punchier, street feel to it. The track kicks off and maintains a baseline with an edgier style and the tempo is slightly faster but works well with the melody. The deep chunky baseline never really takes off but provides solid support to what is an interesting track.
Overall, a good release from C-Jay. This is the second time I have heard his work and I really enjoyed the very cool a side of this release.
