  • Linear B – Shaker (Orient Recordings) A. Original Mix AA. Swain & Paris Remix Daniel Blong and Ben Bailey aka Linear B have come forth with a solid break beat tune influenced by early days electro, hip hop and tinge of pop. This tune is very strait-forward yet has perfect application for the dance floor. Side A: “Shaker Shaker” has a solid break beat lying underneath a powerful vocal line supported by guitars and synth delays creating a fullness that will be appreciated by even the most unforgiving audiences. Upon hearing this one I immediately thought of late 90’s chemical brothers or early Adam Freeland as the tune is both deep and intelligent. I’d expect to see this one progressed by jocks from all genres as the vibe here is very multidimensional. Side AA: The Swain and Paris mix is equally as enjoyable while incorporating a bit more of an electro-house vibe. This one’s equally as powerful as it’s native partner yet we hear a little more funk on this side. Pulling from the same vocal as the original, this one has a very complimentary bass line underneath that keeps things moving throughout the entire piece without becoming monotonous. The breakdown sees some high synth and pulls in a little more guitar work making this one a definite crowd pleaser. It’s important to point out that the quality of sounds here are of a very tasteful nature and commands my highest respect from a production standpoint. Distributed by: Amato
