Stel ft. John Elliot - Finding Time (Disc One)

  • Can it be another collaboration between the minds? Audio Therapy's secret weapon, Stel, finds time to handle a club stormer with Trafik's John Elliot on Finding Time. The Vocal Mix is massive. Thumping drum kicks, wild melodies and a screaming performance from John Elliot. As spacey chimes ring in the backdrop, it helps build the tempo for Elliot's vocals to arrive. When Elliot's voice comes in the picture, his voice gives an impression of anticipation. You can tell already from the first few words that come out of his mouth that he's just waiting, holding himself for something to bigger. The soundscape feels entirely created for the lyrics, to find the time just when it's right to let go, to blow open the gates. The single's catchy, it's uplifting, and it's like a mad dash at the final stages of a marathon. Killahurtz Cult Mix is sonically different than the boys' original. Going for a deeper, almost hypnotic trance, Killahurtz Cult teases Elliot's vocals from time to time with one of the thickest basslines you'll hear all year. How tasty those licks are as it rolls with a subtle melody that hints its way for something beautiful. A dreamy mix you'll find with Killahurtz Cult, and that may just be what they were aiming for. Though it is not as powerful as the original, many will find this pleasing simply for the bassline, if nothing else. Another monster from Audio Therapy as the label doesn't look to be slowing down anything soon. The Vocal Mix will get peoples hands up while the Killahurtz Cult's variation entrances you. I believe it's time to find this piece of wax at your neighborly record store, don't you agree?
