El Clon - Telepath

  • After the simply stunning release from The Premature Wig, the Skor imprint release yet another unique artist on to the scene with this 4 tracker Telepath EP by El Clon. The smooth and downbeat sounds of My Very Own Platypus begin this EP off in very nice fashion, with some smooth melodies working alongside some delicate beats and a moody atmosphere. Mariposa gets quite gritty in its short duration thanks to some heavily effected sounds and a grungy baseline. There are some nice cheeky melodies scattered throughout, especially later in the track to smoothen the production on the whole. Interesting to say the least. It gets even quirker with the cute Is She Smoking. Expect high pitched melodies, unique percussion and a whispered vocal all combined on top of an atmospheric soundscape. It’s the best I could do to explain this interesting little 3-minute piece of music. Crinoline Fingers closes the EP off in a very soothing fashion as the beats are stripped away, leaving an emotive piece of music comprised with atmospheric effects, subtle bleeps and soothing melodies that may remind some of the very brilliant Brian Eno. Another very solid release here on Skor, and a release not for those looking for big room track, but rather an interesting array of sounds and music mastery!
