Ed209 - Dr Hoover with Long Range/United State Of Mind feat Ken Mac

  • After delivering his Infectious remixes platter, Ed209 presents another tasty 12" platter of tunes and he seems to have settled right into his management position at Hardcore Beats. Ed teams up with Long Range which is Phil Hartnoll (ex-Orbital) and Nick Smith's new project and on the flip sees Cyberfunker and one of breabeat's hardest working MC's Ken Mac delivering the vocals. Side A. Dr. Hoover with Long Range A mish-mash of styles, Dr. Hoover contorts the boundaries between breakbeat, techno and trance with a rolling tear-out break (featuring trademartk Ed209 drum fills) and plenty of top end Orbital-style synth action - tech hooks aplenty! The main beat drop and build up introduces a rumbling bass noise and there's rock guitar stabs thrown in for good measure. Dr. Hoover makes one hell of a statement and for those who liked tunes like the The Spanish Tune by Deep Impact & The Autobots should find this quite exciting. Side AA. United State Of Mind feat Ken Mac The flipside sees a new side to Hardcore Beats - the feelgood summer tune - while still keeping true to the Hardcore Beats mentality of twisted basslines and hard edged breakbeats. On vocals Ken Mac sends one out to the floor, getting people to "raise your hands for all of mankind!" while Ed drops an uplifting piano-plonking beat accompanied by strings, a funky horn riff and to even out the sub business a dark growling bassline.
