  • For the 11th release on Stompa Phunk, the label have decided to showcase 4 of their very finest artists in The Eleven EP. David Parr – ‘Release Yourself’ First up on the release is this smooth house cut. The features are some pretty strong beats that work smoothly with some nice filtered vocal effects, warm pads and a deep funky baseline. Quite a tasty way to start the EP. Tula – ‘I jus’ Tula makes a production debut with a fantastic track on the a-side. The baseline is quite seductive from the word go and it keeps the track moving along nicely but never staying the same. The vocal sample gets cut up and worked into the track throughout keeping the production energetic and exciting throughout. Serge Santiago – ‘Take The Journey’ Serge Santiago has been in fantastic form in the last year and he continues that with a very solid piece of work here. The track flows at a pretty nice and smooth pace and builds nicely with some crisp and upbeat drums as well as a throbbing baseline and uplifting vocal wails. The track really takes off late on with a host of retro synth lines and string patterns that have that classic Santiago feel. Ben Burns – ‘Blue Boat’ Ben Burns closes the EP off in style with a very smooth and laid back production. House at its finest thanks to a groovy baseline, subtle sax rhythms and a high pitched effect that rides in the background throughout. This is quite an impressive outing from Stompa Phunk with 4 very good productions that create a very high value and quality EP.
