G-Pal Vs El Greco-3rd July (remixes)

  • Swifts strongest release to date gets an even more serious workout with the first of three remixes . On the A side is the Christian Cambas take of G-Pal - 3rd of July . Cambas doesn't hang about in making his mark on this already sublime track . From the first beat were treated to a peaktime edit of rolling beats and delaying sounds that begin to fashion a darkened mood as percussive elements are added along with heavily effected vocal cuts and stabs. After building steadily it breaks, develops the melody slightly while a broken beat kicks in,easing off and rewarding with all the elements back in place, swirling and moving till the end. The B-side takes a look at El Greco- A Prayer Beneath with the first cut being Red Eyed Sneakers mix from release records Adam Nathan and Jeff Hurst(J-Groove).With a meatier groove from the start the pace is kept at maximum as airy sounds lead into a chunky mix of bassline and beats, gradually lifting with a constant eeriness lurking in the background. The Stel Tsikoudia mix is a sleek combination of warm melodies and heavy bassline that work their way around a tough broken beat. Contrasting synthlines tease each other as subtle delayed sounds creep in and out throughout the track , breaking into a 4/4 beat nearing the end in a slightly different twist. The production is as we expect from these three names, regarded as a force on today's scene , retaining a flavour of the original tracks and twisting them to our satisfaction.
