Eurohouse V Eurotec

  • The UK’s Eurotec and the euro house labels have been creating some serious waves since their introduction on to the dance scene 5 years ago. The euro label phenomenon reached another milestone in October 2001 when they won the prestigious honor of Best independent Record Label at the Muzik Magazine dance music awards. The almighty Nils Hess has been an instrumental player in the labels recent success through his joint productions with Nathan Coles as Get Funked; and has clubbed together a phat collection of the labels highlights to give us this 148min compilation. CD1 - Bunkhouse, opens with some thumping house beats provided by the Mooch and edges in to a darker feel as Nils throwing in some gems of his own (Yank Funk" and "Dark and Dirty") to spice things up. The choons then ebb into a cool funkier realm with Mark Dale’s "Burn". Flunky executes the lighter, more uplifting side with December Mur Mur. The Mook finally ties things up with "Vibrator". All in all a pimp selection of 14 quality house choons and maybe not suited to all ‘bedroom clubbers’ but certainly tech house grovers! CD2 - Eurotec blasts out a much faster harder lackity clack tech roller style as Nils’s remix of Ha Lo’s American Beauty (not to be confused with Jakatta) thumps out some dirty sound are spat out as superbly named Swiss cheese vapor’s Iron Train graces your eardrums. The tracks continue with a rugged techy style, heavy baselines and an over all darker feel which is a personal delight! Reck’s "Clever" and Marco Lenzi’s "Rhytham maker" are two excellent techy classics……As the CD comes to a fulfilling end, who will scrape you off the floor?!?
