- Tirzah's sole LP, 2018's Devotion, felt like an anomaly. The product of four years of collaboration between the London artist and her longtime friend, Mica Levi, those unfussy R&B songs had a one-off quality, like they were made in the downtime from a busy life. Perhaps that's why "Send Me," her first new track in two years, feels like a gift. "Let me let me heal," Tirzah sings. As usual, heavy themes—recovery, working as an artist, motherly love—are tempered by a casual, dreamy delivery. Levi and Coby Sey are back as well. With its serpentine bass guitar line and concluding blast of distortion, "Send Me" feels in line with the DIY rock aesthetic explored on recent Levi and World Music releases. Still, this could only be a Tirzah track, another pensive, minimalist gem from a low-key legend.
