- For musicians who primarily play live on modular synths, there's a risk in trying to pick songs for a 12-inch—the record could fall flat when the tracks feel like they've been plucked from a larger narrative context. This isn't an issue for Freerotation founder Steevio, who provides the best of both worlds on his latest EP. "Cynefin" is a prime example: the wispy, almost hesitant snares are matched in effect by a melody that squiggles across the stereo field as the song locks into an inward-facing analogue groove.
