- Playful electro with a hint of Nordic noir.
- From the outside looking in, DJ Lifegoals has some grand aspirations. Relatively unknown outside of Finland, this Helsinki-based producer has come through with a striking EP of tough electro and IDM sounds for Post Bar's new Post Sonics label. Across these four tunes there are odes to Boards Of Canada paired with slamming electro that could easily be mistaken for Radioactive Man and almost certainly references the otherworldly work of Drexciya (something of a running theme for Post Bar).
"Kernel" is one of those electro cuts, with supercharged synth melodies that gyrate over top syncopated kick drums and isolated snares. It's all tied together with a tough, but fun, Nordic mood that gives the track a sense of place and authenticity.
