Tom Joyce - Basile

  • Functional but personable house from one of Paris's most reliable labels.

  • Tom Joyce has been a key player in Paris's booming house scene for over five years now. His label, Sounds Benefit, has released a wide spectrum of minimal house from some of the scene's best up-and-comers, like HDV, as well as more established figures. On Le Club, Joyce takes the spotlight with four tracks designed to keep your hips sashaying into the wee hours. On "Basile," he squeezes a surprising amount of ideas into a track that remains spacious and bouncy through it all. There isn't much more in the first minute than drums and the occasional electric chirping (major Predator vibes). But the rest of the track clicks into place like a slinky house orchestra, with a techy bassline, squiggly bleeps and warm comedown cuddles from the chords.
