- About a minute into "Euro Night" from Johannes Kolter's latest EP for MINDHELMET, things start to go awry (in a good way). The clinical drum programming that starts the track gives way to a bassline wigglier than an earthworm dodging raindrops during a summer monsoon. And from there, all bets are off. Chintzy arpeggios and a Eurovision-worthy chord progression transform the tune from tasteful tech house into Eurodance euphoria, like Vengaboys remixing Bushwacka! It might not work if Kolter didn't land on the right side of cheesy—if just barely. Did I expect Truly Madly's cooler-than-cool label to release a tune this big and bold? Nope. Am I mad about it? Not at all.
