  • Danish DJ AwardsThursday nite 6th of April. DDJO held their annual Danish DJ awards. This year even more glamorous than last year. Its always a treat to meet up with the people from the music industry for a drink and talk. This year was no exception. The awards given away this nite according to electronic music had these categories and winners: This years danish producer: ANDERS TRENTEMØLLER; five times nomineed at this years DDJA, Anders Trentemøller who has been very popular with his remix of “What else is there” now states that he is tired of making music for the dancefloor and will soon be ready with his first soloalbum which will be more of a chill out sound as he says:” its not gonna be a clubalbum-rather something you put on when you come back from the club”. In Denmark you can go check out a Trendemøller set at Vega Club in Copenhagen. Apart from winning the category danish producer Anders won: 2. This years danish remix: ANDERS TRENTEMØLLER / Röyksopp: What Else Is There? (Trentemøller Remix) 3. This years danish DeeJay-Favorit: TRENTEMØLLER / Rykketid 4. This years danish upfront-production: TRENTEMØLLER / Rykketid This year Trendemøller has had an amasingly good year. It seems like anything he touches turns to gold. Danish DJ Awards was no exeption. Trentemøller left with nothing less than four winnings this evening. WAY TO GO! This years danish Mobile-DJ: SØREN MADSEN / Højspænding; 21 year old Søren Madsen has been the mobile-disc. by the name “Højspænding” 's front figure for 8 years. Sørens skills as a DJ, impressed the judges at DM in Disco 2005 so much, that they had ”Højspænding” go all the way to the final which they won too. This years danish club: CULTURE BOX in the centre of Copenhagen; Culture box has now been alive and kicking for little more than a year and has gathered many people around the DJ box when great DJs from around the world has paid the club a visit. If you have never been there, go check it out and feel the underground vibe. This years internationale DeeJay: ERICK MORILLO / Thirst; Erick is known for his Reel 2 reel hit “I like to move it” and the running of Subliminal Records. Erick played a set at the annual Thirst contest in DGI-byen in Copenhagen in which he combined both new and old house-tracks which had people go nuts! This years danish upfront-DeeJay: RUNE RK; for the third year Rune RK runs with this prize and no wonder. Rune has a distinguished talent for getting all round in music history and still make it an excellent up to date mix in his very nicely developed taste in selecting the tracks and the way he puts them together. Danish DeeJay Battle 2006: DJ DEX ; DJ dex aka Jeppe Fureby started Dj-ing when he was 14 years old. Since then he has come a long way within the DJ-culture and gives us the sound of many styles to name a few; house, disco, funk, soul, hiphop, latin. This years danish mainstream-DeeJay: MICHAEL DAHL; Michael Dahl aka DJ Miguel has been on the scene for several years and goes very far and wide in his DJ-mixes. This years internationale DeeJay-Favorit: BOB SINCLAR / Love Generation; French Bob Sinclar won with his very fresh and loveable summer-hit “love generation”. This years internationale Upfront-Udgivelse: MARTIN SOLVEIG FEAT. LEE FIELDS / Everybody; Last time 28 year old Martin Solveig went to Denmark was in 2005 at WELOVEHOUSE an event night that went on every Friday nite but unfortunately only lasted for a very short period of time. I have to say not because of Mr. Solveig, though. Solveig is an excellent soulhouse DJ who tecnically is very very talented and also has a thing for making tracks that has potentiel from the underground to the “over”-ground. This years danish klub-event: RAW / Silo 52 – Copenhagen; This party had it all. From the very beginning to the very end everybody was having a wonderful time. The whole set-up was done in style and class. It represented all genres like hiphop, Drum`n`Bass, House, Reggae, Dancehall, Techno and Electro. Got to have been the biggest party in 2005. Congratulation to all the winners-THX for a great nite! Written by www.lenasteen.dk
