Manuel Neztic - Golfo

  • Fresh from releasing the very catchy "Kickin' Down" on Mob Records, Manuel Neztic is set to mark a place for Mexico on the international breakbeat map with Golfo, set to be released on his new label Sango Music. Starting things off with a phat breakbeat laced with percussion and horn drops (which sound very reminiscent of Dreadzone's "Once Upon A Time"), Golfo quickly eases into a sublime funker featuring disco guitar licks, deep rumbling bass and a horn melody which has a 1970's Mexico feel to it. It's definitely good to hear melody and structure coming out in breakbeat! While it's still a fat and funky tune, it would suit a more relaxed part of a set or even better, a soundtrack to a bandido film! The Santa Fe remix takes the tune to the realm of tech-house and this time the tune is fitted with a chugging bassline, percussive beat featuring a scratchy noise one would get when using a guirro! The remix is a lot more conservative with minimal elements lifted off the horn stabs and guitar riff yet still sounds full with the bass propping up the bottom end.
