Dan F - Interbreather EP

  • Newcomers to the breakbeat scene, Dan F and JP serve up some dark, bass heavy breaks that would make our own Nubreed proud and definitely cause some seismic disturbances in the nearby vicinity. Side A. Interceptor with JP This track relies heavily on 2 elements that have come into the fore - the bass and the breaks. It's almost like a drum'n'bass track done in breaks speed and it's awesome. If you are in a large(ish) venue like Sydney's home or Metro (sorry Australia, I haven't been to many other places), you'd be able to feel this penetrate your skin and stir the organs inside you. Yes, the bassline is that deep and funky. Side B. Rebreather Starting off with a Plump DJ's style of break, this track goes less in the direction of party anthem and more into the dark and tougher sound of breaks. Turn the lights down low in the venue for this one. Phat! The bassline, like on the A side gets down quite low and plays a prominent part of the track. After reading the review of Meat Katie's performance at the recent Boutique tour, it seems a lot of break fans do not go for the harder breaks sound as much as they prefer the uplifting party breaks. That's cool with me! However this release shows that even the harder sound can retain a bit of funkiness to open peoples minds and invite them to the Darkside! (insert sound of Darth Vader's breathing and hissing here)
