‘Unfinished Symmetry (Parts 1 & 2)’ essentially forms one evolving and diffusing side-long track. It's indescribably good, as is the B1 ‘Black Dust’, but I'll give it my best shot: Listening to both is like driving, feeling the landscape rush away beside you as you concentrate on the vanishing point of the horizon. That's to say that both sides here have real motorik value, chugging through ever-changing rhythms and drifting, sliding patterns of atmosphere. It's an EP built from impressively live and fleshy analogue rhythms and lava lamp synthscapes, improvised and helix-like in shape.
Importantly, ´playing´ rather than programming appears to be key here, and the outcome is some of the most patiently organic techno around. These are the type of tracks you could drop and let ride until the groove runs out, and then happily drop the needle back to the beginning again. Spectacular stuff.
