Andomat 3000 - BND2 If the 2008 first-quarter reports were being compiled for house music, Andomat 3000's stock would be a definite sell. 3000 couldn't possibly have a more productive Q2, what with three highly regarded 12-inches selling steadily to investors and DJs alike.

'BND2' is one of those three new products Andomat rolled out. It follows Solomun's excellent 'Deadman' on Four:Twenty, continuing the label's trend of tribally-inclined house music. Andomat invokes the wild here with a drunken horn and upright bass. That bass, which Andomat also utilized in 'Cicl ?', makes the track, implying movement and giving shape to the production. A reference point? I tend to think of it as what Ricardo, Kraftwerk and Fela Kuti might come up with if, yes, they were stuck in an elevator together.

BPitch lifer Kiki brings up the B-side and stretches things out. He adds groaning didgeridoo-esque noises, an elastic dubby beat and even an annoying repeated synth shaker. It's a remix that loses nearly all of the stiff and funky charm of the original, but keeps enough to remind you of exactly what you're missing. Keep the remix facing downward on this one – while you play the A-side raw.
