- It's funny how a sublabel can often eclipse its parent. What starts as a lark to present a different side of what you're really passionate about becomes what sells. For my money, Connaisseur Supérieur is leaps and bounds above Connaisseur (even though the two don't differ in sound all that much) and the same goes for Arearemote in relation to Remote Area.
In fact, with the mega-hit 'Mumblin' Yeah' and now 'Sexvibe' under its belt, it's hard not to wonder why labelhead Dylan Hermelijn even bothers with Remote Area at all. (Especially considering Remote Area is a sublabel of 100% Pure, making Arearemote a sublabel of a sublabel.)
Either way, Pitto's 'Sexvibe' is a gem and that's all that really matters. Taking a cue from The Mole, Geurt Kersjes sets a teasing bassline against a sampled woman imploring over and over for you to feel the title. A simple experiment in groove technology, 'Sexvibe' doesn't do much, but Pitto knows how to tweak each element perfectly, setting you up for a climax that never really comes, despite another build-up that features blasting trumpets. It's a vibe, you see. Because sometimes doing it is better than finishing it. If you know what I mean.
