Godskistchen - Summer Trance 2002

  • Into the CD store I strolled, searching for a CD which would make my Christmas just that extra bit special! Glancing over the many fine CD's on offer, a cherub with a horn caught my eye. "Godskitchen Summer Trance" read the title and it seemed Christmas had come early (albeit 1 week). Split into set times - 11pm, 1am and 3 am, thus the CD gets slightly harder as the time reads later. So, who are the masters behind the cardboard CD cover? This, like the CD, gave me a warm feeling in my tummy. John '00' Fleming and [the ever legendary] Fergie, appear in small lettering above the tracklistings. How could the CD go wrong? Like a little kid in a candy store I purchased the CD... a wise investment in hindsight. 11pm sets the tone with proggy tracks, typical of Fleming's style. Kosheen, Armin Van Buuren (Coming to Two Tribes) and Jan Johnston feature on 11 pm, amongst other standouts. As I change the CD from 11 pm to 1 am, the enviance in my room followed suit. Still a CD bearing Fleming's name, the 2nd CD is more tranced out, but full of notable tracks such as Punk by Ferry Corsten, Paul Oakenfold's Souther Sun and Energy 52's Cafe Del Mar (Marco V remix natch!). However, on a personal note, the only song on this CD which really stopped my foot from tapping the floor was PPK - Reload. It seems as though PPK lost a note off their metalaphone after ressurection and had to improvise. ... And into my stereo went 3 am. Now it was Fergie's chance to impress, and impress he did (would we have accepted any less from him?!?!). The CD begins with the solid bassline of Bass Generator by Fergie and from that point it sounded as if I had a Jumping African tribe in my room, or so my neighbours thought. Marco V once again featured along with Lunn and James and the Disco Brothers - a testament to the genre of the 3rd CD. 3 am certainly gave me a lesson in the ways of hard trance, and who could ask for a better teacher then Fergie? The CD was well rounded with track choice and feeling. It certainly made me move my ass, I hope it does the same for you!
