Bare Essentials Vol 2

  • San Francisco’s Naked Music is fast establishing itself as one of the top labels for connoisseurs of deep and soulful dance music, and Bare Essentials 2 is another winner to take those January blues where the sun does shine. Label stalwart Miguel Migs is rubbed up the right way in Andy’s Love Bizarre Dub of ‘The Night’, whilst Crazy P turn in a great mix of Aquanote’s ‘Nowhere’. Closing the collection are a couple of smooth jams from Migs (in Petalpusher guise) and Gonky Business. Pick of the bunch for me though is Central Living, who provide two quality house tracks with ‘Inside’ and ‘Visions’. The latter is so good I’d say it was the better looking cousin of MJ Cole’s ‘Sincere’. I strongly urge you to buy this, close your eyes and kick back. It’s one to enjoy, whether in bar or lounge.
