Maximum Chill Out – Escape and unwind

  • Share
  • An album to unwind, kick back & let your cares fade to grey. Each track on the album has been chosen for its unique sound. The artists featuring of the album are of a variety of different international origins; each adding his/her own unique edge & blend of what they believe makes good music to relax to. What is evident throughout the album is that this blend of international talent lends favour to its self & as a result each track compliments the next. It is clear to see that even the track order on this CD has been carefully crafted to insure a smooth & gradual transaction between the different styles. Reminiscent of Mike Oldfield's Tubular bells, my only criticism of the album is the fact that there are one or two tracks that do sound similar but with any genre this is often the case with albums. High lights include the intro track Lol Hammand – Baby Piano with a lush vocal sitting well over the complimenting instruments. The final track on the album is as about up tempo as things get, with a chill out mix of Thick Dick’s – Insatiable. A massive hit in Ibiza in 2002 this remix retains some of the key elements of the original such as the strings, vocal & over all structure. Yet still manages to detract enough from the original to culminate a fresh sounding track. A lot of “chill out” albums over the last 12 months or so have been blatant cash’ins on the increasing popular genre. In a genre over whelming with compilation albums this is one that has particularly caught my attention & I’m sure set to do well in the charts.
