The jointly produced two-tracker, which has been "processed" by Ricardo Villalobos, will see release next month.
Ridges brings together Loderbauer, a German producer and modular synth obsessive who's worked with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Tobias Freund and Vladislav Delay, and Sienkiewicz, a longtime DJ and producer of techno and experimental music from Poland. As the name of the record suggests, there's common inspiration linking the two artists: a "fascination with mountainside aura and mystique," specifically of the Alps for Loderbauer and the Tatras for Sienkiewicz, and the "vocal cultures" of the local communities.
The result is two droning, experimental soundscapes, "West Ridge" and "East Ridge," which have intriguingly been "processed" by Villalobos. Check below for samples of the EP, which will come through Sienkiewicz's Recognition Recordings in late March.
This isn't the only Loderbauer-related release in the pipeline. Arjunamusic is reissuing the 2014 album he produced with Claudio Puntin and label head Samuel Rohrer under the name ambiq, and ambiq Remixed, featuring reworks from Villalobos and Freund, is due to drop next month as well—read more about both here.
