He'll take over from The Black Madonna on Fridays, starting in July.
Erol Alkan will be London club XOYO's next resident.
Every three months the Cowper Street venue picks a different DJ to hold a weekly residency on Fridays. Right now, The Black Madonna has the reins, and past guests include Andy C and Heidi. Alkan's residency, which is called To The Rhythm, begins on Friday, July 7th with Dan Beaumont and Peaches (who will perform live). It'll continue through to the end of September, with Francois K, Jimmy Edgar, 2ManyDJs and I-F also billed.
Alkan will spin all night long on August 18th and September 29th, and he'll play back-to-back with Daniel Avery, Gerd Janson, Xavier De Rosnay and Boys Noize. On July 28th, Alkan will host a live performance from Ride, the seminal shoegaze band whose new album he produced.
Tickets are available here on RA.
