Worldwide FM and whisky brand Monkey Shoulder have launched a new initiative in support of grassroots music communities around the world.
Studio Monkey Shoulder is offering £10,000 to community-focused music projects in the UK, Nigeria, India, Miami and Taiwan. The initiative will also include the production of a film spotlighting the successful applicant in each location.
The launch of Studio Monkey Shoulder comes just days after Worldwide FM took to Instagram to announce that it will be focusing on "emerging voices, spaces and grassroots music communities that are moving the culture forward and help them reach wider audiences." The station, which paused new broadcasts and switched to "a much more minimal service" in October 2022, said that it will use what it's built thus far "to invest in the future and shine a light on talent coming through."
